Play – Physical Activity – Inclusion – Playground Safety
In cooperation with the German Association of Manufacturers of Playground Equipment and Leisure Facilities (BSFH) and the trade journal Playground@Landscape, an informative lecture program will take place on 15 and 16 September 2026 at the GaLaBau exhibition in Nuremberg.
Play and physical activity are not only important leisure pursuits but also have a positive impact on physical and mental well-being—particularly for children, adolescents, and older adults. When creating playgrounds, sports facilities, and spaces for physical activity, cities and municipalities must take into account the changing leisure behavior of the population.
This primarily entails recognizing the growing importance of local, easily accessible spaces for play and exercise; upgrading public spaces to multifunctional areas and “informal” physical activity environments; and removing the strict separation between urban, green, sports, and recreational areas.
At the GaLaBau “Landscape Talks” forum, the BSFH and Playground@Landscape will offer trade visitors and exhibitors a two-day series of presentations providing an initial insight into the topics of play and movement, inclusion, and playground safety.
Anyone seeking practical evidence of these concepts will find it in Hall 2 of the GaLaBau exhibition in Nuremberg.
